Pet lovers want the best for their dogs and cats but how safe is H2 water for your fur babies and should they be drinking it?
Pets have a good nose for h2 water
We have heard from people who already have H2 ionizers and filters in their home that their pets naturally go to the bowl that has the hydrogen-rich water. They also drink more water and drink more often. That’s because animals have highly sensitive olfactory systems. That’s why it makes sense that they prefer to drink water as close to that as found in a mountain stream. Their sensitive noses easily detect chlorine and other chemicals in the water. It’s no wonder they turn theirs up at tap water when given other options.
Pet owners are telling us
“My cat Bruce became very badly constipated a couple of summers ago when he failed to come home for about two days during an intense heat wave. It cost hundreds of dollars to have the problem treated by the veterinarian. He said the cat had probably become very dehydrated and that that would’ve contributed to, if not caused, constipation.
To keep it from happening again, it was important to make sure Bruce drank enough water. I discovered that when I offered him freshly ionized water in a ceramic bowl he often drank much more than previously.”
Another customer says: “Just to let you know that our love-bird sings every day for hours since she is drinking the filtered water.” Subconsciously our pets really do know of the benefits of hydrogen water.
What does water do for pets?
They may not realize it but dogs and cats are naturally drawn to minerals in their water. This is one reason that they prefer water from an H2 ionizer or from a fresh puddle outside. They instinctively know that their bodies require calcium, magnesium and trace minerals such as created by an ionizer like the Ultra Stream.
What they don’t know is that they are also getting water with an alkaline pH in the beneficial range of 8-10.
The purpose of water is to carry and move important nutrients into and out of the cells of the body. It aids in the digestion of food and helps the body to absorb the nutrients. Water also serves to cool the body down and works to maintain a normal body temperature.
Water lubricates and cushions joints and makes movement easier. The spinal cord and other internal tissues are also cushioned by moisture and wastes are removed from the body through urination and bowel movements.
Basically every important body function requires water and without adequate supply, your dog or cat can become ill quickly and become dehydrated. Organs will eventually become damaged with sustained water deficiency. If the deficiency lasts long enough, organs (such as kidneys, liver, etc.) will begin to shut down.
Dogs and cats will basically enjoy the same benefits from drinking H2 water that humans do. Hydrogen-rich water is a potent antioxidant. It can prevent oxidation from inflicting damage on cells. It can also repair cells that have already been damaged by it. H2 water can boost functions of the brain and the cardiovascular system. Further to this it can reduce inflammation and support strong bones and muscles.
Timo knows best
“Our puppy Timo loves ionized, alkaline water,” says Angela, Best Water’s Manager. “He’s just like other animals. When you give them two bowls, one with tap water and another with filtered H2 water, they go straight to the latter!”
Basically your pets know instinctively what’s best for them. So do they drink other water in the house sometimes? Yes. Just yesterday my friend caught her cat with his head in the toilet. Maybe he was just being curious or some people might say it’s because the water is always cold. Or it’s in a ceramic bowl. Or maybe it’s because some habits are just too hard to break, even for cats!
