It’s arguable that fluoride may help prevent tooth decay when you apply it to your teeth, but it’s commonly accepted wisdom that it does a lof damage when you drink it or even shower with water containing it. Which is why we strongly advise everyone to use a fluoride water filter, to filter fluoride out of drinking water.

Putting a toxic chemical like fluoride in the water just to make a small difference and to be affecting so many body systems at the same time is not ethical and is not safe. Fluoridation does not work. It does not work ingested. It’s like trying to ingest your sunscreen. Fluoride works topically.

Do Water Filters Remove Fluoride?

Not all water filters, however, remove fluoride. The three types of filters that can remove fluoride are reverse osmosis, deionizers (which use ion-exchange resins), and activated alumina. Each of these filters should be able to remove about 90% of the fluoride. By contrast, “activated carbon” filters (e.g., Brita & Pur) do not remove fluoride.

For  Athena and Vesta (two-filter machines) you need an internal Fluoride-Arsenic filter – we call it a shield. Older model (non-H2 machines) use this fluoride water filter and if you have one of the newer dual filter machines, you need to order this one.

If you already have an external housing, please order our fluoride water filter that comes without the housing.

Our external Fluoride-Arsenic shield is good for approx 1,000 gallons.
